It was revealed in September 2021 that the HBO series, The Penguin, is set to start filming in 2023. The exact release date is yet to be announced but rumors say it will be late 2024.
Cast
Colin Farrell will be reprising his role as Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin, after playing him in the 2022 film "The Batman." No other cast members have been announced yet but we can expect more news on that soon.
Plot
The series will follow The Penguin's rise to power in Gotham City after the events of "The Batman." With Batman out of the picture, The Penguin will seize the opportunity to fill the void left behind and establish himself as Gotham City's new kingpin.
We can also expect to see more of The Penguin's backstory and development as a character. The series will explore his relationships with other characters from Gotham City, including Carmine Falcone, Sal Maroni, and Selina Kyle.
What We're Excited For
The Penguin is one of the most iconic villains in the Batman mythos and we're excited to see him get his own series. Colin Farrell has proven himself to be a great actor and we have no doubt he'll bring The Penguin to life in a way we've never seen before.
We're also excited to see how the series will expand on the world of Gotham City that was introduced in "The Batman." The film was a great success and we're eager to see more of what Matt Reeves and his team have in store for us.
